Hi Kamiya
1) There are 40 coins in a bag, consisting of $ 5 and $ 2 coins. If the total amount is Rs. 140, how many $ 2 and $ 5 coins are there in the bag?
Ans : $5 = x so $2 = 40 -x
5x + 2(40 - x) = 140
5x + 80 -2x = 140
3x = 140 -80
3x = 60
x = 20
So 20 each.
2) Four years ago, the average age of A and B was 18 years. At present the average age of A, Band C is 24 years. What would be the age of C after 8 years?
Ans : (A + B + C )/3 = 24
A +B + C = 72
4 years ago
(A - 4 + B - 4 )/2 = 18
A + B - 8 = 36
A + B = 44
C = 72 -44
C = 28
After 8 years C will be 36 years
Similarly you can solve the rest.

Q/ Graph f(x)= x-5/(x-5)(x+6) x-5 f(x) = -------- (x-5)(x+6) D = R/{5,-6} But Can't We Write it Like 1 f(x) = -------- (x+6) D = R/{-6} in the first function we couldn't use (x=5) but when we divide by (x-5) we could use (x=5) is that possible ! , or we cant simplify the function ?

Hi,
This is Anita,your Math guide.
Your question is how to graph
f(x)= x-5/(x-5)(x+6)
if the denominator's degree is greater (by any margin), then you have a horizontal asymptote at y = 0 (the x-axis)
The domain is the set of all x-values that I'm allowed to use. The only values that could be disallowed are those that give me a zero in the denominator. So I'll set the denominator equal to zero and solve.
(x -5)(x + 6) =0
x -5 = 0 or x + 6 = 0
x = 5 or x = -6
vertical asymptote is
x = - 6 , 5
Domain = x not equal to -6, 5
You can see the attachment of this graph.

Thanks a lot. ...
I misssed last step and got into tan2θ+1=sec2θ and goofed it it up. So
I got the answer as 1+sec@.Cosec@
Here is another
