Conversion of percentage to fraction : Here we will learn how to convert percentage to fraction.

Consider the following diagram

Here half of the circle is shaded in red. In other words we say 1/2
of the circle is shaded in red.

Now we shall write an equivalent fraction to 1/2 .

50/100 = 50% ( By multiplying both numerator and denominator by 50)

For conversion of percentage to fraction , just divide that number by 100 and then reduced it to the lowest form.

Examples :

1) 57%

Solution :
As there is a % sign with 57 so divide 57 by 100.

57 % = 57/100

2) 45%

Solution :
As there is a % sign with the number so divide that number by 100.

45% = 45/100

= (45 ÷ 5)/(100 ÷ 5)

= 9/20 ( which is lowest fraction)

3) 82%

Solution :
As there is a % sign with the number so divide that number by 100.

82% = 82/100

= (82 ÷ 2)/(100 ÷ 2)

= 41/50 ( which is lowest fraction)

3) 125%

Solution :
As there is a % sign with the number so divide that number by 100.

125% = 125/100

= (125 ÷ 5)/(100 ÷ 5)

= 25/20

= (25 ÷ 5)/(20 %divide; 5)

= 5/4( which is lowest fraction)

4) 36%

Solution :
As there is a % sign with the number so divide that number by 100.

36% = 36/100

= (36 ÷ 2)/(100 ÷ 2)

= 18/50

= (18 ÷ 2)/(50 ÷2)

= 9/25( which is lowest fraction)

5) 115 %

Solution :
As there is a % sign with the number so divide that number by 100.

115 % = 115/100

= (115 ÷ 5)/(100 ÷ 5)

= 23/20 ( which is lowest fraction)
