Odd and Even Numbers
Odd and even numbers are the natural numbers only. See the following number line.

From the above diagram, we can see that for even numbers, the diagram is complete and for odd numbers there is 1 box less. Even numbers can be divided into two groups. For example four can be divided into two groups of two.(
....,these are the 4 dots can be separated as
..|..) But odd numbers can not be divided equally like even numbers.
So even numbers start with 0 and odd numbers start with 1.
Even numbers : 0,2,4,6,8,10,...
So in general we can say that the numbers that ends with above digits are even numbers.
Odd numbers : 1,3,5,7,9,...
The number whose unit digit is other than 0,2,4,6,8 are odd numbers.
The smallest even natural number is 2 and smallest odd natural number is 1.
