Q.6 If a = - 5, b = -6 and c = 8, then show that [4]

Q.8 An elevator descends into a mine shaft at the rate of 6 m/min. If the descent starts from 10 m above the ground level, how long will it take to reach – 350 m.[3]

Q.9 In a class test containing 15 questions, 3 marks are given for every correct answer and (–1) marks given for every incorrect answer.
(i) Gurpreet attempts all the questions but only 9 of her answers are correct. What is her total score?
(ii) One of her friends gets only 5 answers correct. What will be her score? [4]
