Another method
1) What per cent of 750 meters is 125 meters ?
Solution :
Required % = (125 x 100)/ 750
= 12500/750
= (12,500 ÷ 25)/(750 ÷ 25)
= 500/30
= 50 /3
∴ Required % = 50/3 = 16.66 %

2) Express 18 hours as a per cent of 3 days.
Solution :
One day = 24 hours
∴ 3 days = 3 x 24 = 72 hours.
Let x % of 3 days as 18 hours.
x% of 72 hours is 18 hours
(x/100) . 72 = 18
72x/100 = 18
Cross multiply
72x = 100 . 18
72x = 1800
x = 1800/72
x = 25%
